“For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not ofstrong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” Hebrews 5

What is right or wrong? Good or Evil? Who determines this? Many of us see from our own perspective what right and wrong is based on our upbringing, lessons taught through personal experience or the experience of others shared…doesn’t mean that they are “right”, because let’s face it, they too have learned from someone and that someone received it passed on by someone else and so on. Much of which has come from “the world”, communities and other social surroundings we’ve grew up in and of course the experience of life in general. Based on many of these ideas, advice and shared experiences, with very good intentions no doubt, especially from love ones, can lead one to be led by emotions rather than what is the truth or the lie in certain situations and circumstances. If we look at King Solomon for example with the display of Godly wisdom in his judgment about the baby and the two women;   Solomon asked for a sword to cut the baby in half. To each prostitute, half of the boy would be given. The mother of the child spoke up quickly asking for the boy to be given to the other woman. From this act of compassion, Solomon determined she was the true mother of the boy. He awarded her custody of the baby boy. Solomon was praised for his wisdom.” 1 Kings 3:16-28.   He wasn’t led by emotions, or what others could have given as advice, but by the Holy Spirit’s wisdom to determine what was right or wrong or the truth or a lie in that case. Again the Word of God states; There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end there of are the ways of death.” Proverbs 14:12. As children of God and being a part of one another, it is vital for us in the household of God to be united, likeminded in body and spirit…of one accord when it comes to knowing the difference between right and wrong, not only for ourselves, but for our beloved spiritual family members that we give sound instructions, advice and correction to from the Word of God NOT leaning on our own understanding of anything, but led by the Holy Spirit.  Because there is a VERY REAL enemy that knows this Word of God, perhaps better than we do and he knows far too well how to twist the truth of God’s Word into the most deceptive of lies right before our eyes if we are not grounded in the Word of God. Amen. This would even have most of us who are studying, preaching and teaching the Word, but living so blindly, that we couldn’t be farther from the truth…without the power of the Holy Spirit, so there’s no real threat to him [the enemy], by no means. Believe me when I say this knowing the difference is a gift from God, and only by constant practicing of the Word can we grow up in our faith being mature men and women of God knowing good from evil, not as the world sees it, with its many deceptive illusions mythologies, but as it is seen through the eyes of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.  Then of course there’s that flip side of the coin where we know something to be contrary to the Word of God and condone its practice with an outright excuse of saying; “It’s not my business”…sounds familiar? But let me remind you…”And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said; I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper? Genesis 4:9. Yes, I am. Because I know that we are part of one another and if my brother / sister in Christ is effected by something, then so am I as a part of this spiritual household of God’s. The difference is that I’m not to judge my family, but instruct them in love and based on the Word of God and vice versa. In my opinion we’re just big kids in God’s house learning how to keep in step with the Spirits leading that we can mature together as a household bound stronger than ever that the love and light of our Lord Jesus Christ may shine as bright as the noonday sun through us for the world to see that there is a God, and Lord and Savior that lives, that loves and cares beyond human understanding for a lost world and patiently waits for the remaining of our household to enter and share in the inheritance that awaits them as for us. Amen. Therefore, let move forward with that vision of maturity, practicing and drawing nearer to the author and finisher of our faith with the hope that we as well as others reach spiritual maturity in love and in God’s Word.  May the one and only God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob protect you and your love ones as we move from faith to faith and glory to glory in Jesus name. Amen and God bless.
