Truly we’ve all heard “Humble yourself before the Lord and He shall lift you up.” James 4:10. By definition, humility; is an action regarding others before one’s self…unselfishness or sacrificing yourself for others; “He who tries to save his life will lose his life, but he that gives his life for the sake of another will gain eternal life.” For most of us, these are hard words to swallow, because if we have any part of ourselves incorporated with “the world” of things, this act would seem impossible. The flesh is designed for self preservation, therefore would shrink back from such a high call upon one’s life. However, humbling ourselves in the hands of the living God would call out that Kingdom faith and who you are…a joint heir King and Queen in Christ Jesus for the sake of God’s people and then it would give the enemy something to truly worry about, because not only do they recognize who you are, you also see the enemy for who they are. “One day the evil spirit answered them, Jesus I know and I know about Paul, but who are you?” ACTS 19:15. This is what we were called to do, present ourselves as living sacrifices our spiritual act of worship, Romans 12: 1 and 2. Walking in humility (keeping in step with the Holy Spirit) allows the Power of the Holy Spirit to rest upon us from on high and this is how we as children of God begin to see and witness miracles, revivals, demons cast out, sicknesses healed in the name of Jesus. Amen. As the Word of God states; “Having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!  For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,  always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 2 Timothy 3:5-7. Though this verse speaks of those that really have no positioning in Christ, we on the other tend to walk such as these at times. In other words, refusing to humble ourselves underneath the hand of God, therefore quenching the Holy Spirit of God, who waits to perform these heavenly miracles through us, so we’re breaking God’s heart. Brothers and sisters we are of the household of the living God to perform a great work as co-workers along with our Lord…this is why we have a great commission. I would be the first to admit, that I am guilty of such shortcomings. Believe or not, humility is the key that unlock many blessings that are awaiting the children of God to begin their work here and now. Take a look at Daniel 10:12; “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God your words were heard, and I have come to respond to them.”  Not that our prayers go unheard, but that act of humility also is an act of faith that causes God to respond based on such a faith,  so much that the enemy knew who Daniel was and tried to hinder his prayers…a great prophet. The eyes of heaven are upon us and how we respond to this great commission and work set before us is in our doing alone. As Paul states; “Let each man seek after his own salvation with fear and trembling.” The only question I have for us as a family the body of Christ Jesus our Lord, and partakers in this heavenly calling…what are prepared to do? I pray that each one of us draw near to God and humble ourselves that the Spirit of God may rest upon each and every one that is reading this post at this moment and those that are part of this body that we may become who we were called to be in Christ Jesus and grow in the knowledge of our Lord each day as we press forward in faith, hope and love watching miracles happen right before our very eyes. Amen. May God continue to keep you and protect you. God bless.
