The world has become a faster place and people don’t have time to read filling lines. An average internet user spends around 6 seconds on a website, and if your article confuses readers or doesn’t interest them, they will immediately leave. You can only make sure that your user is satisfied by providing him articles that are precise.

Have you ever though why people love visiting blogs when websites like Wikipedia and WiseGeek exist? The answer to this is simple – people love to know what others have experienced, and it makes them feel good to be able to interact with someone. Blogging has opened doors for readers to read and talk to the writer about a particular topic. So, use examples of yourself or others while writing articles. Also, use idioms and quotations to make your articles more compelling.

As mentioned earlier, times have changed and you don’t really need to stick to the formal way of writing articles today. Bloggers especially should make adding the element of wittiness to their articles a habit. Readers find it fun to read articles that are witty in nature and not boring.

There are two major reasons as to why a blogger should use short sentences: for search engine optimization purposes and for keeping things clearer for the reader. Longer sentences were considered to be an art in the olden days, but today they’re not. Long sentences can make users confused and, believe it or not, they won’t spare an hour to read your article unless you are a celebrity.
